A local barber has described how he helped stop the suspect in the attack on Australian MP Helen Haines. Ricky Jefferies says he pulled the suspect, named by local media as Brendan Nugent, 43, from the car and threw away his knife. "A lot of people got involved immediately", says Jefferies - he says one person "sat in front" of the suspect's "rolling car". Helen Haines, is in a critical but stable condition and has reportedly lost a leg after being hit by the suspect's car outside her office in Wangaratta, Victoria.
