Fake images are spreading online claiming to show what looks like hundreds of iPhones floating in the Strait of Hormuz. Many of them are based on real pictures of a container ship that was attacked this week, which Iranian state media reports was carrying 2,500 containers when it tried to cross the Strait using an “unauthorized” route. Real videos verified by BBC Verify show the ship billowing smoke, while its spilled cargo is visible in satellite imagery. #StraitOfHormuz #iPhone #BBCNews
