Thunderstorms and torrential rain hit parts of southern France on Tuesday and Wednesday following a red alert for the region which has now expired. The city of Montpellier was particularly affected, with some areas receiving two months worth of rainfall in just 24 hours. In neighbouring Gard, the prefect said several rivers were overflowing, roads had been closed, and flooding had been reported across the department. #France #Flooding #FranceWeather #Montpellier #Weather
