As Pennsylvania battles its deadliest measles outbreak in recent history, nurse Dale Weiser travels door to door to reach the notoriously off-grid and largely unvaccinated Amish community. Weiser drives 30 miles (48.3km), sometimes daily, giving at-home vaccinations to the traditionalist Christian community which abstains from many aspects of modern life, including regular contact with the western medical system. The rise in measles has caused tensions between state and federal health officials, adding anxiety to the Amish community, where people are watching their friends and family fall sick.
