Daniel Thomas has been charged after a video appeared to show him slashing at a boat in the English Channel with a knife. A French coastguard official was on board when Thomas appeared to slash at the vessel. Around 50 migrants who had travelled in the boat from Normandy had already been transferred onto RNLI lifeboats. They were later moved onto a UK Border Force vessel and taken to Dover for processing. Thomas was charged with one count of criminal damage and failing to disclose the PIN to his phone, police said.
