Why is a Dutch dictionary adding a new word for labia? The most widely used Dutch word, “schaamlippen”, can translate as “shame lips” or “pubic lips”. The prominent Dutch dictionary Dikke Van Dale says it will now add “vulvalippen” to its online edition because the term is becoming more established in everyday language, including in newspapers, textbooks and medical information.
