India’s Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) started as an online satirical movement, which eventually led to the widespread ‘cockroach’ protests by unemployed students in the country, and the resignation of India’s education minister who had referred to them as ‘cockroaches’. Now, the CJP and its founder Abhijeet Dipke is turning its attention to rural schools in India. He said students living in rural parts of the country “should at least get a dignified life, a dignified education”.
