Take a look at this. 😮 Footage captured the moment frequent lightning lit up the sky over Myrtle Beach in South Carolina during a thunderstorm earlier this week. More than 17,000 lightning bolts were produced in six hours, according to a local meteorologist. So, how does this happen? Intense thunderstorms can generate lightning at such a rapid rate that individual flashes merge into an almost continuous flicker. At night, the effect is even more striking, with the storm clouds glowing like a huge flashing lantern. #Lightning #USWeather #Thunderstorm #SouthCarolina #BBCWeather
