The far-right Alternative für Deutschland party (AfD) is polling way ahead of other parties in the eastern region of Saxony-Anhalt before state elections on 6 September. It describes German memory culture, in its manifesto, as a "guilt complex". It is a claim that is deeply divisive in a country where facing up to Nazi crimes has long been seen as the nation's moral anchor. Other parties won't go into coalition with the AfD, which is classed as right-wing extremist in several states, including Saxony-Anhalt since 2023. The AfD has consistently rejected allegations of extremism or comparisons to National Socialism. Tap the link in @BBCNews’s to read more from our reporter in Saxony-Anhalt. #BBCNews
