Here she’s cooking Kozhukkattai wrapped in ravioli sheets while wearing a handloom saree passed down from her mom, reimagining a piece of her family’s history as a meal.⁣ ⁣ “This saree has been worn, loved and lived in by someone I love so dearly. Translating it into a dish felt like a way of preserving and re-expressing something deeply personal to me.”⁣ ⁣ Akshara’s recipe:⁣ Filling: Roast grated coconut in oil. Add ripe mango with a little water, cover and cook. Stir in jaggery until thickened. Finish with cardamom powder.⁣ Outer layer: Flour, water, a little oil and salt.⁣ ⁣ Video by @aksharashivakumar
