Zack Polanski, leader of the Green Party has called on the government to cap private rent rises for three years in England. In his speech at his party's conference in Brighton, he said that an “emergency brake” on rent increases would give renters “vital breathing space”. He also called for a “national fair rents guarantee” which he said would “keep rents affordable for everyone forever”.
