Ed Sheeran has apologised to fans for as he opened his first show since Macklemore was dropped from his tour for making pro-Palestinian remarks on stage. Sheeran said he was “making mistakes”. He also described the 7 October 2023 Hamas-led attacks as "horrific" and called the situation in Gaza "unjustifiable". Earlier this week, a mural to Macklemore was painted on ruins of a building in Gaza, thanking the singer "for using your voice for Palestine."
